Many people are contacting our office asking to pay their 2018 county taxes early. Unfortunately, the Sheriff’s Office is not allowed to collect pre-payment of tax for future years as (1) tax rates have not been set; (2) Property values have not been set; and (3) the Sheriff has not obtained quietus (settlement of current tax year funds) from the Department of Revenue and Fiscal Court for the preceding year as required by KRS 134.330.
